About Us
The HFI Math Club is a student-run club at the International Department of the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University where students come together to share their love for mathematics, engage in intellectually stimulating discussions, and participate in fun and challenging activities.
Mission and Goals
As one of the largest clubs at HFI, our primary goal is to cultivate a community infused with a collective enthusiasm for the elegance, depth, and boundless possibilities inherent in mathematics. We view mathematics not merely as a subject to be studied but as a dynamic and ever-evolving journey of exploration and discovery.

Long recognized as the “Outstanding Club” in HFI, we provide students with diverse levels of math learning resources. Since 2017, the Math Club has been sharing notes and delivering a variety of lectures, encompassing in-class knowledge reviews on Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry for Y10 students, Calculus BC for Y11 students, and Advanced Calculus for Y12 students.
We also offer Olympiad competition preparation for AMC, AIME, and USAMO, along with advanced mathematics topics such as multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and group theory. Our lecture topics span from pure mathematics to applied mathematics, and we encourage our members to embrace the entire spectrum of mathematical inquiry.
Furthermore, we organize math competitions within HFI to encourage students from various academic backgrounds to come together and explore the beauty of mathematics. Additionally, we share firsthand experiences of participating in mathematical model competitions like HiMCM and IMMC, as well as tips for applying to competitive math summer camps, including HCSSiM and ROSS. Through our activities, we aim not only to promote academic excellence but also to instill the joy of intellectual curiosity and the thrill of problem-solving.
